1. WEB SUCCESS. Colliers International and Lotus Notes have teamed together to sponsor an expedition to climb Mount Everest. This huge effort is documented with an excellent web site, Everest97, complete with daily diaries and images from the mountain. The climbers have now passed through Base Camp at 17,500 feet and are at Camp II, 21,000 feet poised to launch an attempt to reach the summit 29,028 feet this week. Whether they succeed or not, they have already triumphed in assembling a team and launching a coordinated effort to achieve a lofty goal. Log on to their web site and share the experience.

3. HOW TO CREATE A MAP. This week I introduce a new feature at PikeNet. On the home page you’ll notice a "Questions…How To…" hyperlink under Toolkits. Click this hyperlink and go to a page of questions. The first topic is "How to Create a Map for a Web Site Using MapBlast." You can also follow these steps just to print a map for a client to locate a property. It’s easy. Try it.

4. REIPA PANEL. I’m moderating a panel, "What Makes a Successful Commercial Real Estate Web Site?" at the Real Estate Information Providers Association meeting in Atlanta on Saturday, June 7 at 3:30. The panelists will be Craig Robbins of CB Commercial, Rob Stuart of Compass Retail and John Green of Information Architecture, designer of SIOR’s site. For information on the conference go to REIPA’s site at http://www.reipa.com and click "Association Events."
