1. Web Success--ARCS Lands $6 Million Loan. .....It’s still rare when a company can point to the web as absolutely vital to the success of a real estate transaction. Yet that is exactly what Arthur Nissman of ARCS recently reported. "In fact, we paid for our web site with one transaction." A Las Vegas apartment owner found the ARCS web site on Sunday, phoned the ARCS Los Angeles office on Monday, flew to Los Angeles on Tuesday, and closed on a $6 million loan thirty-one days later. The property was an attractive 180-unit complex with full amenities. The owner had no previous contact with ARCS, which is a mortgage lender for multifamily and commercial properties nationwide. 3. IBM Promotes E-Business. .....This week you might have seen an advertising insert from IBM touting the importance of the Web. One statistic caught my eye. "The number of people with access to the Web will rise from 55 million this year to some 550 million three years from now, according to IDC/LINK." Wow, if that’s true, things really will be different in the future.
