1. HotData... John Childers with Colliers Oxford in Austin, TX, raves about HotData, which plugs your desktop contact manager (ARES for ACT!, ACT!, Goldmine) into dozens of online data sources, including Dun & Bradstreet, Experian, the U.S. Post Office, and a dozen more. Here's how Childers describes it: "Take your existing contacts database, run the Hotdata program, and it will bring up information such as revenues, # of employees, CEO, CFO, updated zip codes and area codes. "One of the coolest things about it is this: I've actually been driving down the road and seen a sign on a building. When I got back to the office, I typed in the company name, city and state into ACT! and ran a search with HotData. It pulled up revenue information, key executives, # of employees, and SIC codes immediately. ... You can sort based upon any of the fields, including number of employees. If I had a 30,000 sf office sublease listing and wanted to determine companies which would fit that size, I could search a database to find companies with 100-150 employees, and then either send them a flyer or follow up with a call directly to the CEO or CFO." ... Wow. 2. AnySite.com... Check out AnySite.com, which offers ring and drive-time analysis and reports, including locations of your choice (e.g., competitors, shopping malls, etc.). ... I've posted step-by-step instructions in the Maps and Directions section of PikeNet's Web Resources (left-hand column of home page). --Peter |
